Choices.....

I am associated with people from all walks of life. Some are ministers, lawyers, doctors, nurses, drug dealers and so fourth. The thing that we all have in common is choices. At the end of the day- it is the only thing that we truly call our very own! With that being said, it would benefit us to ponder deeply on steps we take because I don't know how well that time travel machine is coming along-lol!

I heard two associates talking the other day and person A asked person B why he sold drugs? Person B said he needed to feed his family. Person A asked was McDonald's not hiring, could he delivery news paper or anything else legal. And the answer the person B said was profound in my opinion. Person B said, I am sure other jobs were hiring, even in this recession, but selling drugs is the choice I made. People want the drugs and are going to buy the drugs from some one and I was there so that is what I do.

I was blown away because of his honesty with his response. I know personally: selling drugs is an option that I would not choose, but taking ownership shows maturity. I guess I was expecting him to say I don't have an education or all these tat's are slowing me down from work.

Anyway that triggered my thought process about people that I know. Have you ever got fired from a job, went through a foreclosure, car reposed or been dumped by an ex-lover. Like person B, we didn't take ownership of the situation. If we had taken steps to prepare for the future our pain surely could have been less in comparison. I guess its up to us to do what we feel is necessary to achieve that outcome. Ya know, keeping our eye simple, cut back on wasteful spending, following a budget, just being practical! Seems easier said that done but I am learning to become more proactive and less reactive non-the-less.

Here is what Ward thinks, you know how a tire is round and when it is aired up it rolls pretty easy. Imagine if it is flat, it is hard to push and you get no where ......fast! See balance is required as in life. You need to spend time equally in areas of life to keep it tight. Religion, relationships, recreational activity and relaxing. Too much time in one area can make you crazy or neglectful in others, right Nikki? Really the choices we make dictate our lives. Change your focus, change your future.

I am Ward
