Today I want to give a shout out to one of the greatest musical brain childs of our generation! Sucka who else could it be other than Prince. You see the picture 2 tha right, so don't be acting brand new! Remember back in the day when Prince and Micheal Jackson were battling to see who was the .....ummm Man! MJ had just dropped Thriller and it was straight blowing up all over the world and Prince came out with a series of movies, such as Purple Rain and Under the Blue Moon. It became a contest to see which one of them would be the first to crack up from fame, overdose from drugs or turn out to be on the down low. The ironic thing is that Micheal and His entire family were Jehovah's Witnesses and with the exception of his Moms everybody either got disfellowshipped or walked away from the religion. (((Now))) Prince is a Jehovah witness and we all know who ended up being the crazy one-lol!
I recall back in high school when a hommie took me out for a spin in his new BMW ( that started my love affair with foreign cars) and he played if I was your girl- friend by Prince and he explained the words. I was like that dude is deep and been a fan ever since. Dude taught him self how to play 17 instruments by the time he was 19. Think about it, he doesn't need other artist to help sell his music, he is his own man. I love: When doves cry, purple rain, little red corvette, raspberry beret, controversy, darling Nikki, I want to be your lover, 1999, I want to be your lover, I would Die 4 U, lets go crazy, kiss and I feel for you ( yeah he wrote it and sang it then gave it to Chaka Khan). Dude is just all that when it comes to music. Sure he wears heels but he is a freaking tall midget, he gotta do something!
I can go on about all his music but I think my point is clear. The boy got skills and since he is mixed/mulatto- he got that cross over coin in his pockets. I hope he continues to make them hits for years to come. Hey he didn't rape no kids (MJ) He didn't have sex with and marry under age girls (R.Kelly) and he ain't been to Jail ( Ron Isley) and he's still alive, so lets hear it for Brother Prince Roger Nelson.
I be Ward............
