My ministers clothes don't define who I am.........You do sucka!

I love seeing the freedom of expression that people show on the you-tube site! I have to chuckle at some things and cringe at others. Nevertheless, it is the realness that keeps me checking from time to time. In fact one of the more interesting viewings occurred when I saw these ministers tring 2 reach the young people. One minister came out dressed like a "pimp" from the 70's. He actually wore a white rabbit fur full length coat, feather in the hat, stack shoes and a lime green dress shirt from Saturday Night Fever. He wore this down the isle up into the pulpit where he proceeded to use the "B" word in reference to women. He and he co-preacher both performed this act as the Sunday service. They said it was done to reach the young people. They felt that in order to get more youth interested in religion, you must show them that you can relate to them.

This is not an uncommon view from many today that I encounter. I see people rapping about Jesus, wearing multiple iced out crosses, and coming to worship in the same clothes that they would wear to the club, I think they call this coming as you R-lol! Don't get it twisted- you gotta wear what you have.Imagine going on a job interview for a executive position or going to meet with President Obama- you would wear a nice suit, shirt or pant suit. Likewise, when you are going to worship the most high in the universe, wouldn't it behoove you to take a few minutes to show greater respect 4 the giver of life. Leave your jeans and booty shorts at home.........

I gave this some reflection time and came up with the following. The Bible WAS written thousands of years ago and inspired of God- who has not changed... nor his word. I see the readers have though??? With that being said of the scriptures, the people mentioned within its pages were not followers of popular trends, they did not follow local traditions to help honest hearted ones to find the truth, rather they used sound reasoning by letting the word speak for it self.

Returning to the hip-hop ministers, I am unsure what the plan to keep its 'new members' who like hearing women degraded and men being seen as street figures. I just don't think if Jesus were here he would not implore this course of action! Last time I checked, the best advice you can give anyone is a good example! How many people remember the saying be like Mike!!

I leave you with this, Read the word ur self before going to any place of worship ( that way you will know if you are being properly fed) and "don't let what you can not do interfere with what you can do (John Wooden)

I be waRD.....
