How many times am I 2 forgive my brother? This question was asked of Jesus some 2 thousand years ago. For those of you who don't know the answer- it might just surprise you. Don't get it twisted, we can definetly forgive someone, but forgetting is the hardest part of all. Sure its easy to take out trash, but seldom do we go out and bring the trash back inside to re-examine it all. Y can't we be like that with our loved ones.
In this writers opinion, I think it has a lot to do with pride and feelings. When someone we know and love hurts us, its ironic. We never expect it from them. They know us, we trust them, its not suppose to happen that way. Then somehow "Sorry" just doesn't seem to cut it. Perhaps on some level we may want to hurt them back so the offender can feel the gravity of the pain that they inflicted upon us.
I know I have hurt people before and wish that I could take back some of the things I have said and done, but I can only learn from my errors and try to not repeat those silly mistakes again. Again, I think that Jesus came to Earth as a perfect man and he was killed for no other reason than trying to help people. I guess we should expect no more than he received due to inherited imperfection.
Well my challenge for myself today is to be forgiving to others more often!! I won't get mad at the jerk who cuts me off on the highway, I won't get sucked into arguments about ""nothingness issues"" and I get upset at people who give sucky customer service. Today I will be the example that challenges you to look past the past and embrace the future with a smile.
I am Ward.....
