Is life suppose 2 bee equally fair and should it be?
Recently I assisted someone with getting their dream car (because thatz what I does sucka) and listening to their questions of anticipation and obvious fear of getting the best deal, I began to ponder about how much inequality exits in the world today. Ok, let’s look at the car and home ownership business. Let’s walk 2 people from birth to ready to the ready to purchase state. They both are born in Methodist Hospital, grow up and attend public schools in Indianapolis and then both attend Ball State after graduating from high school. Both major in the same field and obtain the exact same degree. Now they both are applying at the same places for auto and homes. Now this is where it gets exciting!
Shouldn’t everything be fair at this point? Of course, we are assuming that both were responsible with their finances and did the right thing (so delete that thought). The fact of the matter is, both will be treated very different based on race, gender and timing for starters. I guarantee you that everybody in your neighborhood has very different house and car payments. I won’t say that it is right or wrong, but I will acknowledge that it happens. So again, my original question arises, “Is life suppose to be fair and should it be? The simple answer most would give may be yes! Then again, if all were fair, where would the competition to do better come from, where is the competitive advantage to make one customer go to one place over another? I think on some levels, customers like know they got a better deal than some other sucka? Think about how many people like walking around with the fake Prada or Gucci bag smiling as someone thinks it is the expensive one. Heck I been known to rock some J’s that were not purchased from foot locker and no one ever questioned me.
Nevertheless, our creator fortunately doesn’t subscribe to this idealistic view of better than-less than malarkey because of the intense ramifications of its effects on the masses. I have to chuckle to myself when I see people spending all their money on a car while living in their mama’s basement, just 2 keep up appearances. The ironic thing is, most people don’t know you probably could careless about what you drive or where you live and those who do know you are presumably thinking you are living outside you means and waiting for you to fall!
At the end of the day, life isn’t fair and those of us who realize that tend to work that to our advantage. Some chose to be taken for a fool, while others learn to get in where they fit in and reverse work the system to their advantage. Ya know, lie about income, degrees, and living arrangements and so on. I do think life should and will be fair for one day
'soon', but for now, a sucka is being born every day.
