If honesty is the best policy, shouldn't i keep it 100 with my hommies????
2 BE honest means to be truthful and free of fraud. Honesty requires you to be fair in dealing with others—straightforward, honorable, not deceptive or misleading. An honest person is a person of integrity. Being always trustworthy, he will never cheat his fellowman. All of us would like to be treated that way, would we not? In speaking with my female hommiez, we debated about honesty when it comes to good friends. The particulars are not really important-what is important is that she was asked her opinion by a good friend. She gave her perspectives, but she didn't really give the response that was 100. I feel she gave the politically correct answer, but is that really being honest with your peoples?
Of course I am not judging her, I am really checking myself. I am sure that many of us do that very same thing to protect our friends and families relationship. I mean, if you really answer someone's question with the truth it could really mess them up. Case in point: If your cousin is complaining to you that her dude seems to have feminine tendencies, but she is sure he is not gay. So she ask you do you think he is gay? You can be honest and say what you really feel or you say that you are sure he loves her very much. That is my dilemma, seems like people are so consumed with being liked or loved that they forgo honesty.
I know that old saying of "You can't handle the truth" is real for most of us. I think it is better to be straight up with everyone, but you can say it in a loving way. Heck, you can tell someone their baby is ugly, by simply saying "He look just like his Daddy", yall feel me on that. What about if someone wants you to eat thier nasty looking food, Wardy says, I just finished eating and feeling stuffed, but if i wasn't, I would have loved to have tried your dish! LOL, I have done that for real.
I believe in being honesty and tactful, but when you ask my views, eye can listen and agree or give you the realness. As for my hommie, I think he being 100 is the best thing she can do, but not how you think. I suggest, saying "I am not as close to the situation as you are and not having all the intel that you have, it is clearly better that you tell me how you feel and what you should do and I, as your friend, will support you". Yeah that's what eye would do!
I am Ward
