Lately I have been thinking about the times we live in. For years I have hearing that we are living N the last days and actually seeing how bad things are getting. We had the bombings in Boston, the school shootings of innocent children and the people of this great country being divided over not wanting health coverage for people. There are so many more things that deserve mentioning but when its all said and done, we should expect things like this according to the Bible. It is going to get worse before it gets better, but who really believes that? I especially find myself being worried about my children. I, like many parents, only want what is best for my kids, but I really want them to have what the Bible holds out as "ever lasting life". I think they have an ideal of what they need to do to be prepared, but being such a young age, the world just has way to much offer.
Speaking with a woman about making life changes again helped me to realize that people don't want to change. This woman is wanting to get a job/career change while using what she did 50 thousand years ago. Somehow, I just can't see someone hiring someone with outdated skills and no intention of getting retrained- while expecting to earn $17/ hour! I suggested trying to figure out what jobs excite her and targeting her resume to show transferable skills that will make and save the potential employer $$$$. The person in question feels that "she ain't got time for all that", she just wants a job NOW! I understand how the person feels, but then again, since I am really feeling this end of the world situation, it just emphasizes how stubborn we as humans really can be. Point you ask? Quite simply, if we know that we have to make changes to avoid the obvious future, then why not stop fighting it and make it happen.
Change is hard, but doesn't it seem like the people who want it most are "others" and seldom "US"??? I ain't no exception to the rule myself. After I graduated from high school, it took me 15 years to go back and get my college degree. I kept making excuses of how I could make it without doing it with a freaking degree. I did good, I must admit, but I knew that I wanted to complete what I started? Like I mentioned earlier that I want my kids to make it to the new system.....My mother wanted to see her son graduate college too! Change is definitely a challenging situation for many of us, but its really worth it. I am unaware of what your struggle is, but I hope both of us are successful. In the famous words of Michael Joseph Jackson.............Make dat Change!
I am Ward....
