Eye am steeeel learning

Today was another job club course at work. It was cool because it was the third one in less than two weeks. We also have 40 people in that small class room. It started it as usual, ya know people not knowing what to expect and not ready to talk or share. But my job is to break the ice and get the crowd talking. I must say- I think I am pretty good at it and my partner is very good at doing what he does. Its really a balancing act that works.

I guess my Ah-Ha moment occurred when I was speaking to the class and I was told that having a felony keeps some people from working! Some have been looking for work for over a year and and willing to take any job- but have been unsuccessful. I did not want to seem extra hard, but I recall thinking in my mind- that an obstacle is an opportunity placed in your way to force you to utilize skills that you did not realize you have in order to make a way out of no way.

So this is what I did at lunch- I went 2 Popeye's Chicken and got a two piece and fries and spoke with the manager at length about what type of work I do and how I could help him make and save money by working with my people. To make a long story short-- The manager told me he would hire 8 people that I send over to him on the spot. It was a double edged sworded message for me. I was perturbed that it was that easy to get a job and wondering why my people had not been to this spot and countless others in the area?

I had to then learn that everybody is not at the same spot in life as I am or others. My life experiences have that "I don't know" is not an answer but "Let me find out and get back to you" izz!! Also failing to plan is a plan for failure. I could go on, but my point is this.....If you want to be the best at something take advantage of your resources and read up on it, study it(the Internet, people who help you, your youth and determination to never quit). Failure is not an option for me, but again, I understand that until "U" get to the point of realizing that if you don't go get it you wont get it, then you can't get it. I guess I love the challenge and enjoy the rewards of my hard work even more. Ya feelz me?

I aM ThA WarD....
