From 1 brutha to another: fear of the other brutha in a bow tie.......

O.k,. at my job we are moving into a new building this Saturday. They got overtime and all kinds of free give aways going on! Quite naturally they have movers at the job ( mostly black men, who seem to be quite musty!). I find it rather ironic- that most of the movers seem to either look away when we pass by or look at me like I am some wanna be "Carlton" from the fresh Prince!!!!! I thought at 1st, it may be due the fact that I am zipping around the hospital doing my thing, but heck, everybody does that-right? Then I started to realize that its because those men think I am not black enough.......... because I wear a bow tie or other fashionable neck attire. Hummmmmmmm, should I just walk around smelling all musty- in a pair of run down Chuck Taylor's?  I think the freak not!!!!!

If by some strange freak of nature, that I am correct in my thinking, I refuse to make my self yeild to fit some pseudo mold of what others think a stranger to them should or shouldn't be. I am not trying to just go thru life.....Ward is trying to Grow thru life. What those men don't see is the Man who had to struggle in his past as a single parent, going to college full time while working a full and part time job. A person who had to travel 200 miles a day for 18 months to obtain a Barber's License. A guy who lost his mother when just starting out in life. A person who loves helping people.

Nevertheless, it is what it izzz, for those to men 2  judge me because they know not what they do. But there is light at the end of the tunnel for those on lookers. My job has came up with an excellent ideal!! Everybody has to start wear uniforms and khaki's starting Monday. Ya know the ones like they wear in some schools? Now we can all walk around looking like we work at Staples. I am so excited to put my neck wear up on the shelf. Now I can finally be black enough to start getting the what up nodd from the real bruthas!!!!!

I am ward......
