Whats good to me may not be good for you.....
As most people in the world know, The Colts going to the super bowl! Yeah its a big thing for some, but there are a few of us that just don't care......ummm like me for example. I sat with some friends on Sunday watching the game thinking to myself how much I hate football. Everyone in that room looked like they were gonna cry when the Colts were trailing in the first half. I almost felt sorry for them, but then again, Whats good to me may not be good for you.....
Here is the jest of my point today: People seem shocked and upset that I am not a football fan and dare I say not a Colts fan!!!! I just don't need to be all on the band wagon, because I have not worked out with the team, nor caught one Peyton Manning pass or scored a come from behind touch down! Come to think of it neither has any of the people I know has, yet I hear "We made it or we can win? WTF????? I think the thing that makes me different is that I can still play the sports I enjoy. I can run and jump still be quite effective as a player. Perhaps others live their lives vicariously through others and get the enjoyment that way. Yeah that's the ticket-right????
I don't like the couch potato thing that we Americans have adopted so well. Check it, when we get fat we take a pill, when we don't want a child we abort it and when we want food- we complain that the microwave is too slow-lol. It just seems like its easier to live by viewing rather than by doing for self. I ain't madd at it cuz, it leaves a market open for an entrepreneur to come in and take your money......
I am not a colts fan, but I am Ward.....

What up with DaT?
Of course no one knows what tomorrow may bring and definitely no clue for next year. I think about all the things that are going on in the world today and sometimes have to shake my head and keep moving forward. I have experienced so many things in this new year, that make me want to become a better person for myself and family.
Here is a short list of things that I am thinking about, I invite you to read and see if you able to empathise with any.....
*I don't vote or get down with politics, but doesn't it seem like the expectations of Obama are heavy. Dude has plenty O gray hair now!!
*Young people are caring less about their future and getting more involved with their electronic gadgets and cell phones....
*Yeah we are in a recession, but why do we keep spending like it the hey day of the 70's?
*Why do people fight so hard to get married and then give up so quickly when hard times surface?
*Why do people lie about a new years resolution that they know darn well that they wont or plan or keeping?
*Should customer service classes need to be a part of the high school experience?
*How come more people dont read the book "Who moved my cheese"?
*Do you think people go toooooo far with the excessive body art?
*Have you ever wondered why the gas prices keep fluctuating?
*Why does the price of stamps continue to rise, but the mail doesn't come any faster?
*Why does the IRS go after the small time people who owe money while rich people get away with owing millions.
*Why do Mexican people like dressing up like cowboys....still (its freaking 2010).
*Why do White people wear shorts in the winter?????
*Why do Black people match everything on their ward robe?
*How come restaurants are able to pay waitresses $2.15 per hour and depend on me to tip them? Don't they work for you?
*How can some claim to be a racist, but love any of the major sports team...

Does being a black man mean acting a certain way?????
Black men have come a long way in society- have they not? I think some races think all black people look alike, but I find that funny because we are so many different shades and sizes that the statement is stupid by nature! What really gets my goat is when I see a black man acting like he ain't black. Now hold on, cuz I can explain Lucy!
See I work with the brotha...I mean other....o.k. lets just say African American who clearly has no clue he is black at all. I am not saying you should act a certain way in life or the work place but dang! This dude looks like he may break out with a "Yes um boss is weez feeling o.k. today". He is sicking to watch. He just sucks up and ignore any black person he encounters. I recall the first day I saw him, I was like hey bro how goes it? He looked at me like I just interrupted a Klu Klux Klan meeting by asking them to please make a donation to the United Negro College Fund! It was then that I realized that this brotha was lost. Real talk, I have losts of white and Mexican and Chinese friends....seriously and we are all equal. We see no distinction in our selves because its no need. But this dude I am talking about is just straight gone to the dark side of normalcy-lol.
I played a practical joke on him and left a picture of flavor flav on his desk and he called the cops and said someone committed a hate crime!!! As I slipped out the back door I saw him getting into his saddle shoes and London fog jacket and then off to his Toyota Pris. What a joke.
O.k., I just wanted to get that off my chest. Now have a good day and be yourself and not who you wish you were ya sell out!

Enjoying life
Sometimes we get caught up trying to make sure the bills are paid on time, and the kids are taken care of and making sure the house is clean. But what about taking time to have time for time itself. I understand we have to keep making sure of the more important things, but we still have to have some ME TIME>>>>
The other day, I just took an hour to lie in bed and reflect about the things I want to do with the rest of my life. I decided I want to travel somewhere new, meet a new friend and write a children's book and learn to cook a new dish. Yeah it sounds boring, but I think its perfect for me. While I am at it, I may as well take some pictures of people that interest me in the community and make a scrap book.
Today I am enjoying life, not complaining about he weather, job or economy. I just want o smell the roses and laugh like the kids....

I hope he doesn't want me just 4 my body???
I was talking to my home girl 2day and she told me something that just blew my mind! She told me that she likes this certain guy but doesn't want him to want him to want her just for her body???? What the fudge is tha all about? Does she not know that we men folk are visual creatures? Of course we want your bodies silly girl, we got eyes and a brain that is wired to go kew kew for girl co-puffs!
Lets look at situation from a males perspective. We are walking down the street and out the left corner of our eye we notice a dyme piece with some painted on jeans, a tee shirt that says boy toy, some matching Nike shocks and a fresh perm. I mean she looking so good that other women are doing a double take.(Women wonder why we looking at yall after all this work you put in) Well the helpless brotha's hormone immediately shift into over drive as he makes his way on over to her side of the skreet to say his quickly thought of line. Let's just pretend he says to the honey, "Excuse me Miss, but I lost my phone number, can I have yours". She may laugh or find him korny, either way the dude made his move because he wanted her goods!
Its a true fact that men will use love to get sex and women will use sex to get love! Crazy right, but its sooo true.
Now, back 2 my home girl, what she has to realize that the body attracts but the mind will retain the relationship. They work together suckers. I guess its similar to a man having madd $$$ and the ability to treat you like a queen, its a good thing right?
Here are some of the things that women do to let us men folk that yall are into us!
1) Yall text or contact during the day just to let us know we are thought of
2) You keep good eye contact because ur interested in what we are saying
3) Safe touching in public shows you are comfortable with us
4) You have things to say and not afraid to disagree in a loving way
5) When we fight, yall don't run, but work to resolve it quickly
6) U Show us a syde of yall no one else gets 2 see, your bad singing and bad jokes
7) Goodbyes R special! You hold us tighter and kisses us more passionately
8) When we walk in a room where you "B" and you light up and give us full attention
Yeah most simple men wont ketch these clues and will eventually jack the relationship us. Its not cuz (we/they) no longer want your body, (they/we) just need to be communicated to about your needs in a language that we understand. Simple rules and great rewards.....

Things we do for what we think is love.............
When you first met he loved how independent you were, he loved how much you worked to earn that cheddar, he even enjoyed the you ability to encourage him to get the things done that he was dragging his feet on! I remember you use to say how you actually want to tell this dude your where aboutz and what your daily plans were. You did them freaky things like send him ummm well special pictures of you because you wanted him to think of you like you was thinking of him. Love is a beautiful thang until imperfect humans throw several monkey wrenches all up in the mix.
Perhaps its the cold weather or the jacked up economy, but people are staying with people that they are mere hours from killing! Seems like the relationship is good in the honey moon stage, but inevitably the time factor sneaks in and each person in the relationship starts to look/find faults in the other. They begin to realize that this person may not be that special after all. You just got caught up in the six month front of relationship trips!
Honestly, I feel that most new entrees into to coupledum either fail or choose to over look the importance of laying some ground rules. No one wants to come off as a nagg, but I have learned that the things that attract couples are the very things that eventually tear a couple apart. Example, She use to love your laugh, now its annoying: He use to love your support, now you are just a nagg: She use to love talking to you on the phone, now her phone is never on: He use to send you flowers, now he just smacks you on the boob, then farts and runs out of the room! You use to enjoy that they had so many friends, but now you realize that all those friends are of the opposite sex????
This is some brief examples of what all couples COULD do:
1. Talk to your mate about your expectations and what you bring to the table
2. Discuss how your $$$ will be handled
3. Define where the relationship is going add a time line
4. Set defined times that you will have one on one time alone
5. Get religious together- on the same page- and pray to God to help you grow daily
6. Explain how you feel about loyalty and cheating. Explain cause and effect
7. Always be honest and open with your mate and keep issues in house
8. Be a good forgiver and a person who leaves the past in the past
9. If you decide you no longer want the person.....then leave if not married
Of course each situation is unique, but we all share the similar problems, and we all have "things we do for what we think is love".

Gotta love my kids.....
Well as another year rolled up on us I reflected back on my girls. They seem to be growing up so fast that I find our conversations becoming more meaningful each day. Sure we still have the occasional talks about sponge bob and Zack and Cody, but we can now talk about sports and designer clothing. For years I told them that Nike was a cuss word, but I think they know otherwise now-lol!
During their two weeks out for winter break, we got caught up on watching boot-leg DVDs, playing wii and learning Spanish on that darn Rosetta stone! I am still amazed at just how questions they continually have. They ask at least 4 thousand per day. I said let me show yall something to help me not loose my mind. I took them to my office and introduced them to my friends, GOOGLE and Ask.com, I should have thought of that a long time ago.
Things we plan to to this year include a trip to New York, Disney World and searching for some of the best soul food places in the Midwest. I do enjoy being a father. My father and I were never close, so I am making sure I do the opposite. I have my good days and bad onez, but its a job that has plenty of on the job training!
