Your fade or mine?

Who got next? Back to the old profession I guess. It felt great to be back doing what I do! Good conversation and tight bald fades. Was nervous about getting that cross over dollar at first, but hey I am a professional right?

Champs.........offically

Is the NBA rigged? Probably so? Did David Stern tell the Heat they couldn't win the Championship last year and had to wait until 2012? Probably so. Nevertheless, It feels good. Like I was there. Can't take it away now.

Not again.....

Another day with my crazy friends has further shown me that women are truly crazy & men don't make them that way at all. My homeboys girl is stuck so far in the past on imaginary things that if she hitched a ride with Marty from back to the future, she still couldn't let go! I hope she tries the following or at least get one of them hug your self white jackets that they sale down at the hospital!

1) Pinpoint the reasons for your jealousy: is it based on a past event? Has your partner lied to you? Once you have a reason, you can begin to work on the solution. Awareness of the reasons for your jealousy is important.

2) Identify what role your insecurities are playing in this -- is this based on a previous relationship? Has your partner REALLY done anything wrong? Is this a problem with low self-esteem?

3) Tell your partner about your jealousy using "I feel" statements. Feelings aren't up for debate, and an open line of communication -- WITHOUT being accusatory (Work in Progress) -- is key here. It could be as simple as, "I feel jealous when you spend so much time with your friends."

4) If your jealousy is stemming from something to do with a past relationship, remind yourself that you're in the present. You are no longer in that relationship, this is a new partner, and as such he or she should be given a chance.

5) Really let yourself feel the jealousy. Don't tell yourself you shouldn't or should "be over it" (that's one of the quickest ways to guilt). Become hyper aware of the reasons for the envy. Facing it head-on will cause jealousy to lose some of it's power.

Are black folk as dumb as HOLLYWOOD makes em out to be??????

O.k. So I am flipping thru the channels on the boob tube the other night and ran across what I thought was gonna be an interesting show??? It was called Hip Hop Squares or something like that. I see some comedians and famous rappers. I watch and its all good until I listen to the freaking questions and answers. They ask what does BET stand for or what is "Muffin Top", I was like REALLY???? I turned over to catch the last few minutes of Jeopardy and felt dumb!
I am sure we could come up with some better questions than that to ask our people. I know plenty of smart, educated black folk, so why can't Hollywood find 3? Then again, if you ever read a JET magazine you know it ain't got nothing to do with planes and so easy to read that a 4th grader can get through it....quickly!
I guess I am just realizing that the world is not fair and what is always on T.V. may not be suitable for those of us who are trying to do better.
